Here is my best guess as to how the Keynote will pan out from start to finish.
- Straight in with iPhone (no big summary of figures "So much great stuff to show you guys" etc). Phenomenal success etc. Today bumping it to 16GB and introducing new firmware which provides all the rumored features. Introduce some iPhone apps for sale on iTunes and release SDK details so everyone else can do the same soon.
- Laptops are growing in market share. We have the best on the market, selling really well etc. Now making them even better. MacBook Pro, new black/carbon fibre/obscure metal enclosure. Using the now standard Apple keyboard design. Using new chipset but otherwise the same on 15" and 17" inch. Then move on: "much demand for a replacement for PB 12". Today we have it. Smallest lightest laptop we have ever made etc." 13" but super thin, no optical and upgradable 32GB SSD. The ultraportable will be part of the MBP lineup. And cost maybe $1699 in base spec.
- iTunes, a few quick figures. Then in with film rentals. "People only want to watch a movie once". Announce partners. "How do you watch it?". Updated Apple TV. Cheaper. No Blu-Ray. That would increase the cost alot and reduce the need to download the films off Apple in the first place.
- One More Thing (definitely not the subnotebook, he knows it wouldn't surprise anyone so it will be earlier) Mac Mini becomes same form factor as Apple TV (ie, wider) but a bit taller. Uses 3.5" drives and has more RAM slots. Not a full blown tower though. Back to $499 price point Mac Mini was originally introduced at.
I want to think they have something more cutting edge lined up but right now I can't think what it could be. I'm willing to be surprised though.

I was playing this game today and the final kill cam was of a guy getting shot who was standing in the middle of a road (where he spawned) aimed at the sky shooting at a helicopter with what looked like a Light Machine gun of some sort. The guy who shot him was in a room looking out a window. As the replay was going on i stated over the mic "now there's an intelligent player" referring to the guy who was under no cover trying to take down a chopper with a gun. The guy who was shooting at the chopper stated that he was trying to fulfill and achievement by taking the chopper down.
I thought about this and realized that this goal/reward system in the game (this goes for most online FPS's) in a way made this player do something so stupid. The player was only looking to fulfill his own personal goals and thought nothing of the team and the loss that occurred cause of it.
So I ask you, (the reader) does this make sense to have in the game when it forces players to go out of there way for personal goals and shift away from the overall team play?

Because I have a button that receives the action "cancelTime" in IB. I wonder if I need to add something to userInfo parameter in the cancelTime method. Please correct me if I'm missing something.

i grew up in woodside, and it seems like this house would be very out of place. i'm not saying i have anything against his simple house or anything, just that it doesnt fit in with the area.
hope he enjoys getting no signal out there...everytime i go back there my iphone drains it's battery in about an hour searching for signal

You might get your facts right, too. This has nothing to do with Data Roaming. And I have been in foreign countries enough to know this fact.

My point is - that if the switch to turn off Data Roaming was the one that failed, people wouldn't be divided. I think pretty much everyone would point the finger at Apple for it's failure to QA the "off switch"
The Location Services on/off switch did not work. Period. And yet people want to make this about people not reading the EULA.

I'm aware of that ulbador, and my point is that like any other language.. you get better with time & practice. Nobody FORCES you or dejo to read my threads, or answer them. If you see lack of objective-C fundamentals, just go to another thread (for Pros), is that simple. Some people like to help, others laugh, others ignore you or get frustrated because they can't read ... who cares man, if you don't like the thread just go to another one but never try to discourage a person who's starting to learn, that I'm against.

It's a game and obviously that controversy brought it publicity( simply because parents didn't want their precious 8 year olds playing a game like MW2).
You got killed on that mission because Sheppard betrayed you and told Makarov that you were an American leaving a perfect scapegoat and reason for Russia to invade the US. I don't find that ludicrous at all.

Oh, well, every time I hear someone say they can't see the difference between a standard DVD and an HD-DVD/BluRay disc when shown on a proper 1080p display, I cringe. Perhaps they need to just buy the 25" TV for $200 along with a $25 DVD player, take the money they save and get some laser eye surgery. :D
Actually, with my new HD set up, most family and friends that see it in action are usually awed by it. I have several friends and neighbors that continuously invite themselves over for monday night football and other events. Most of them think it's pretty cool, but would never spend that kind of money on their home theatre setup (I don't think I spent that much, the TV accounted for over half of everything and it was $3600). A couple of them in the past few months though didn't balk at the price and they went and bought one too...
But yeah, I'm an "-ophile" when it comes to audio and video. I don't really fit in with the rest of my family. I have an uncle that's only about 10 years older than me and I let him have a left-over 20" TV when I moved. I told him it's a nice set - only about 3 years old. His only concern was "is it color?".
I know I'm the minority around here when I say this, but I don't own an iPod. :eek: Yeah, it's true... I personally don't care for the MP3 format and the lesser quality offerings of iTunes. I remember the first time I played around with OS X. It was on one of those colored iBooks at the only store in my town that carried Macs back then. I really hated it. It seemed so pointless at the time. I remember the toolbar buttons were gigantic (remember the big square buttons with the home and heart icons on them?) It was actually sort of depressing thinking that was the future of the Mac. I still didn't find it tolerable until Jaguar 10.2 but even then, there were so many little annoyances with it compared to OS 9. Now, I couldn't ever dream of going back to the Classic Mac OS.

This may be off-topic, but does anyone know if the recently purchased Mac products are "grandfathered in" for a Lion release? In other words, I just bought a new MacBook Pro yesterday... am I going to need to pay to upgrade to Lion?
It would, of course, be nice if the upgrade was free for recent purchasers similar to what MS did with the release of Win 7, but I'm assuming that since I can't find anything out about it, there's probably nothing to be hopeful about.
Based on past practices I expect this will cost us over one hundred dollars.

Because a huge amount of the reported details on this matter are wrong.
While the method of storing the cell location cache may show poor judgment on Apples part, I don't see any malicious intent. The system is logical implemented and on the surface, cell location data does not appear sensitive enough to justify encryption. It is only after further analysis that potentially sensitive data can be inferred.
Regardless it's good to see it being addressed.

Bingo, where are the options? This is the thing with the cache. Five bucks says people will be complaining about poor Location Services performance after the update.
5 bucks people will be complaining about something even if they THINK they are having worse performance while others will say they haven't been affected and others will say performance has improved.
In other words - it will be just like any other update/patch.

Yes the iPad made a nice easy to use picture viewer once you had put the images on it from your real computer at home is what you are saying.
You could just of easy taken a laptop which read the CD images off directly onto the screen and no needed this new device whatsoever.
Just place the CD on any PC nearby, open either ReaddleDocs or GoodReader on the iPad and place it in WiFi mode, open your browser on your PC to access the iPad, and upload the images to it.

That's a very public beta which has been steadily improved over that time (the last update was yesterday). Unlike Apple, Adobe haven't charged for the beta experience. Amusingly, some of the top new Apple "innovations" are clones of Lightroom features.

In fact, now they have rebranded it Adobe "Photoshop" Darkroom, it leads me to believe it will be included as part of Photoshop and not as a seperate product. This might also be why they haven't released it yet, since the next version of Photoshop isn't finished. This strategy would undercut Apple since most photography professionals undoubtedly already own Photoshop and will upgrade.

That was my point, until it's thoroughly tested in court (or repealed or modified) it remains up to interpretation, which makes most encryption/DRM reverse engineering related work in the US (somewhat) risky business.
DVD Jon may have found a way around this in that he's not currently trying to circumvent the access control, he appears to be trying to apply a compatible access control to files that would not otherwise have one.

Also, you have to understand where some of these people are coming from. Maybe not Kanye personally, but I could understand why kids growing up in the American ghetto might feel a bit of animosity towards the police they way they are treated and all (not all police are crooked, of course.)

If it takes that long before C2D finds its way into the MBP, I think Apple will be laughed at by a lot of the other manufacturers who have already announced models due before the holiday season.
