What are you using to connect the headset with?
Music files are stereo, and have only 2 channels. I do not know why you'd want to output in simulated surround sound, you'd lose audio resolution.

I'll wait until my photo class is done (I don't want the teacher to think I plagiated) to post some photos I have taken.

It probably won't be long before they kill off Office for Mac and Messenger for Mac. I just hope that iWork is mature enough by then to handle the office needs of some users.

I can see how it might be useful, but at the same time, it clutters everything up (especially mission control) and makes it difficult to find the document I'm working on.
Make sure to file a feedback/report on your complaint. I think you are right and it may not make sense to show so much. Maybe a much smaller subset.

You will be constrained by the through-put of USB with an external drive VM.
That said, you could put a VM instance on an external drive and run it from there.
Alternately just store the VM on the external, and move it to the SSD when you need it.
I have Windows 7 Ultimate on a 9 gig VM using 512K of memory...so you may not need as much SSD space as you think.
Of course, gaming will change this pretty fast.

I've installed a bunch of new Win7 machines over the last days, including Macs, and all installed and updated to SP1 just fine.

I noticed in the linked document that Xray tools could be written "using the D programming language." I wonder if this is the first sign of Apple finally deciding to come up with a replacement for Objective-C. D is certainly a very nice looking language and, along with LLVM, would allow Apple to have something that looks like it could one day be on par with the excellent C#.
For more on D see http://www.digitalmars.com/d/

Does anyone knowledgeable about monitors think this is a good deal? I will be using it for AutoCAD work and general computer use.

NetBeans is pretty good, but is a bit of bloat. It will show warnings and errors in your files while editing them just like when programming Java. Personally though I just use a text editor (BBEdit), then as mentioned browser tools like Firebug can be great for debugging things.

Yes, but we don't exactly know when that will come out. Look for it AFTER Vista (if that can happen) ;)
I would be willing to bet big money that MS Office Universal Binary is ready to go right this minute.
There is no way Monkey Boy Balmer is going to let the Mac Business Unit release it before Vista and the New Windows' version of Office!
Can you imagine the press release - "Well we are pushing back the release dates of Windows Vista and Office. We want to make sure that it is absolutely perfect. However, we are releasing Microsoft Office Universal Binary for the Apple OS X operating system". It just ain't gonna happen

I'm not an iPod user, but methinks this would be a good thing for Apple.

This thread is aimed at web developers that can give feedback from real world experience please.
I am looking for alternatives to OSCommerce. I have used OSCommerce in the past, but I am not really a great fan of it and I would be interested in your opinions on some good alternatives.
I have 2 main criteria I would like to meet.
1) Template or theme system. I would like the skin of the cart to be implemented via a theme or template system, and activated through the admin. I think WordPress and Joomla do this very well, and this feature in a cart would be ideal. The smarty Template system would be cool too.
2) Plugins. This is really one of my pet peeves with OSC. To extend the software, you need to copy paste code throughout the installation. This is messy, time consuming, and fraught with danger. get 1 full stop out of place and the sh#t hits the fan. Also install multiple addons can be a pain, and addons do not always play nice together. Once again the way WordPress makes use of plugins is the way to go.
Your suggestions do not have to be free, I don't mind paying for decent software, but it should be a self hosted solution if possible. I have had a look at Magento, Opencart, BusinessCatalyst, ShopperPress and Joomla Virtuemart, and I would really love to hear both the good and the bad for these, and your other suggestions.

great little Mac's these slot loader iMac's , i love my two ...
and yes with the right sort of harddrive you really need to press your ear right on the case to hear a bit of a humming noise caused by the harddrive otherwise complete silence so long you dont get the idea using the optical drive to install something , playing movies from that drive (if you got a dvd drive fitted ) isn't loud at all , its only when installers are searching the disc for something then its more the noise of a coffee mill ,

can you recommend a brand of switch?
Thanks!
At the moment I am using a 2.5 year-old TRENDnet 8-port switch that cost me $28 shipped. It hasn't melted yet, but your mileage may vary.
Sure, more expense can net you more features, but now you're getting away from the 'simple network' you asked for.
A.

I can't handle this.
iPad 2 without jailbreak, suuuuuuuucks.
Yeah yeah,faster....thinner.
But with no jailbreak, im looking at my friends with the first iPad and being actually envious.
I feel like a addict. I'll kiss a man for my jailbreak.
I know people are working hard to get it done, and there is no one who appreciates their work more than I.
Bless you jailbreakers.
Jesus smiles upon you.

Hi
I'm trying to learn how NSFileManger works and I want to test out some methods with files that i have created. Let say the file name is called "testFile". Now the question is where do i put the file, in which folder? I tried the fileExistsAtPath method and it keeps giving me the file does not exist message. By the way, im using Xcode 4
Thank you for your precious time.
