Provided the rain stays away, I see Australia posting 400-550 and then England left a day and a bit to beat it.
If that's the case, it will be one VERY close match. That is, provided England don't play to draw in which case it will be very dull.
What I have loved about the test is the respect for each other. After Hayden got his century, lots of the English players congratulated him. Both teams seem to have a mutual respect people each other. That is until one is run out by a substitute.

Jobs may be skinny, but he is also getting older... there's nothing out of the ordinary here. Sure he may be a God to some of us (myself included :p), but he is a normal person like you and me. He sounded better at this presentation than he did at the Mac mini and iPod Hi-Fi introductions. He's actually been skinnier for a while now, so I am sure everything is fine. If anything, I think his performance has been improving throughout the year. I'm confident in his health. :)
As for the other speakers... I have to agree about Phil. He seems like a great guy, but his speaking skills are no where near as great as Steve's. Who was the other guy besides Bertron (sp?)? I really liked his presentations. He kept me interested, especially during Time Machine.

Tunisia. They outlawed burkha/hijab/niqab in 1981 (i.e. 16 years before Turkey did).

It's not an iPhone 5, but instead the white iPhone 4 coming this summer.
- iPhone 4 just came out for Verizon
- Availability for white iPhone 4 parts on gray market steadily keeps increasing
- Apple is both changing their release schedule for iPhone (release near xmas with other updated devices), and possibly giving more time to get through the rumored manufacturing issues

I would like to see Apple position iPod movies as part of the a broader strategy for higher-resolution content, but I don't see them going for a model where you download the iPod version and get the DVD in the mail.
Unlike with music there is a willingness to allow a digital copy when the DVD is bought, the future HD disks may have 1 or 2 digital copy's on the disk for the mediacenter, streaming and PC use. I don't know if providing a digital copy from the DVD is illegal? Amazon and Apple together would be the perfect couple in such a situation.

Oh, that sucks big time. Guess the margins just aren't high enough... They're probably damn near taking a hit on each one. They just want to snatch up some more of the education market.

Final Cut Studio and Logic Pro are a couple of the prime examples of software best still delivered via Disk. Not only is the software mammoth, it takes over 3 hours to install directly from the disks. And as fast it is to transfer data via disk compared to over the net, you bet that this would be a huge problem for 2 reasons. One, it would take forever to install. Two, a lot of folks have monthly limits on data, so you'll be hitting walls a lot quicker, that way.

OMFG! Australian is not a race.
He was just pointing out how wrong it sounded. He was not saying it was actually racist. You seem overly emotive in your response to an amusing observation.

LOL!!
No QuickTime Pro will download his stream.
The idea of this stream is that the part you have just played will be erased form your HD, and will be buffered what you are just about going to see (if there is enough bandwidth left... which usually is HUGE problem within the first couple of hours of the post).
Those who do get to download it, usually find some cool way to keep the cache all on HD without it being erased. Some clever software is used most of the time.
You'll find torrents of the whole Keynote somewhere tomorrow on the 'net... ;)

Can anyone tell me what kind of RAM I have to buy for a late 2008 MBP? On Crucial it won't tell me because their website thinks that this machine only supports 4 GB... Can I just get the 8GB RAM kit for the mid-2009 MBPs?
I didin't get my ram from crucial, but I did use that spec from their site for the ram. Just match the spec of the ram and you should be fine.
I just got 2 of these:http://www.microdirect.co.uk/Home/Product/44639/Corsair-Memory-4GB-SODIMM-DDR3-1066MHZ-204-pin

iPhones don't cost any more than other smart phones, so I don't see why you find this surprising. If you need a phone, might as well get the best.
I don't know where you get your prices from, but when you look on Amazon.de or even eBay, you'll quickly find that the iPhone 4 is twice as expensive as the comparable Samsung Galaxy SI9000 or Samsung Nexus S and it is still more than 200 Euros more expensive than the LG Optimus Speed - which already has superior technical specifications, e.g. a dual core CPU.
So, no. The iPhone does cost more than other smart phones and no, it certainly is NOT the best anymore. Maybe it's the one that you like best, but that only has something to do with personal preferences. From a pure technological aspect, the competition is giving Apple a run for their money - and there are already more Android-based phones being sold than iPhones. So obviously, the competition is also doing something right and the customers are discovering that other mothers also have beautiful daughters.

An early release is good, but no bugs please!
Will an early release mean free Leopard for the new C2D MBP's & MB's ?

Why could it not have a secular constitution?
the main reason would be that neither palestinians nor israelis want a secular state

Agreed.
How can they sell a "cheap" iMac and a very expensive MP if they want large margins on their products? Shouldn't the iMac be at least 500$ more if that were the case?
And as for the "workstation" reality. I'm sure there are MP buyers that actually need Xeons over hex i7 chips. But how many. Really. Compared to the number of Mac users that want an iMac that has expansion slots.
Also, has anyone looked to the latest financials to see how many MPs have actually been sold? And how much money they gained by keeping that MP tax?
Loa
They can sell a cheap iMac because their costs are lower and crucially, that market is far larger, so they can "Make it up in volume." I would imagine that their financial analysis did not lead to a similar conclusion vis-a-vis the Mac Pro.
As to "workstation," It's Xeons because Xeons are the only way to get dual-CPU machines on the intel platform. really doesn't like overly complex product lines, so they don't want to split the Mac Pro off into a Xeon and non-Xeon configuration, having already split it off into dual and single processor lines. I imagine similar reasoning is keeping them from making the "X Mac", which is what you really seem to want.
Finally, does not release sales figures for different portions of their market - just "Portables," and "Desktops," so only they can answer that question, and they have not seen fit to do so.

I have a Late-2008 MBP 2.8GHz.
Mikey, I also have a late 2.8 Ghz machine, can you tell me the web url or part number of the 8 GB memory you ordered from Crucial.
Thanks

Obviously the phone will be only available to select providers. I don't see many people paying early termination fees to switch to whatever provider is using the Apple phone. I know I wouldn't.

Still impressed by what they manage to cram inside these machines...
try that on the mac mini. its insane how small they are and what they can do.

After seeing something about an iChat application for Windows, I wonder if there isn't a huge event coming where the Cocoa application framework will be available on Windows suddenly and all Apple software will work on both platforms.
This would be nice...
