I am running close to 20 degrees warmer now!
Yes, I noticed an immediate temp rise too - 5c or thereabouts and now the fan is running with only safari open.
Maybe I shouldn't have done it.:o

I read the thread title and got really excited because I thought an Xbox360 version of the seminal Space trading game was scheduled for release...

I got a nice fast MBP 13 a little over a year ago. Then I got an MBA 11 for its portability. Worried whether it was different enough to be worth it. But now I use the MBP 13 far less often, it's become my desktop computer.
The MBP used to go places in a backpack or briefcase. The MBA 11 gets carried around like a magazine.
The MBA 11 is more portable than an iPad plus a small Bluetooth keyboard.
Ever thought about replacing the MBP with a base iMac or so?

Downloaded firmwares for all my iOS devices in a couple of minutes. Go go multithreaded download manager!
Is iPad 2,2 = AT&T and iPad 2,3 = Verizon? Thanks for the link BTW.

Decades back, they sold weed by the ounce, now they sell it by the gram.
And now we know why these kids don't have any idea what a lid is.

These sort of security discussions and informations provided are all good for Apple. Now Apple can decide if these problems are possible issues or not and take preventive measures before things get out of hand.
It's beneficial for Apple to get these kinds of reports conducted by out side agencies such as the University of Washington doctoral student.

And that is the biggest question of them all. If I can't put the music I bought and ripped up in the cloud, what is the point? I am curious to see if this is going to be a paid service, part of Mobile Me or? Can't wait to see how this plays out.
It will probably work the way Amazon's new service does. Only the music you purchase moving forward can be synced in the cloud.

Great news! I was worried M$ recruited him for Zune commercials.
How awful would that be? I'm POSITIVE Apple had it in his contract he couldn't do that when they took him on. But that would suck if they hadn't.:o

Na, these two have and will survive without iPhone.
These already have traffic capability anyway ( via subscription ).
The only reason I feel that way is the likes of Nokia with their already solid mapping available for Symbian and undoubtedly WP7 once it hits, Google Maps and the potential for an Apple designed mapping solution that would be available to literally millions of smartphone users. Not seen nothing from RIM or Palm yet tho.
With Smartphone ownership on the rise, from affordable symbian/android handsets to premium iOS/WP7 and Android handsets, there will be a lot of people out there with a gps solution in their pockets.
Perhaps im jumping the gun but i think it could really affect stand alone units. :)

The vast majority of Vista is "service pack" material. There are only 4 or 5 things that needed a whole new OS (new in the sense that its not XP anymore).

Carbon fiber is passe'. Liquid Metal is the future. Remember Terminator 2? The T-1000 was made of liquid metal.
Passe'? I've never seen a laptop with a carbon fiber enclosure, so not sure how it can already be passe.
If they can make it work, I say bring it on.
Imagine....

I work at a small embedded software development house and I am moving my entire team to Macs (MBP). We do mostly Linux-based development and we are using Parallels on the MBPs to run Suse Linux and then using X11 on the Mac to have a single unified desktop.
I hope in a couple of years to have the whole company moved over. You should see the interest from the other teams in how we are using Macs (and if they can join my team!).
I could not have done this if it was not for Apple's Bootcamp and Parallels and the Intel switch.
The world is changing!

Just because he's not chubby doesn't mean he's sick. I have friends who eat healthy and look very thin, and they are in excellent health. People are getting used to seeing fat people and when someone comes along that is not the norm, they assume the person is sick. Sure he's lost weight, but that doesn't mean there is something wrong. The loss of weight and his beard made him look "different" and people jumped to conclusions. Also, keep in mind that he's probably bust his ass over the last year with all of the transitions. You'd lose weight too... and forget to shave, if you had his schedule. ;)

Let me just sum this up in advance:
Apple sues someone: "They are protecting their IP/trademarks."
Someone sues Apple: "They are bleeding money and need an Apple handout" or "Patent troll"
Usually this is followed by someone with a 'shareholder' remark since they somehow believe that owning 7 shares of Apple should get them a direct line to the CEO.
Ut-oh, I'm not conforming to the groupthink... here comes about 40 'hater' comments.
Not a hater comment, just saying but do you know that Nokia keeps suing apple, and there really is no reason for it. At first it made sense, but now it just seems pretty petty. And as A side note, Have you actually seen someone on here who thinks owning 7 shares of apple gets therm a direct line to the steve jobs?

The 120 Hard drive, fantastic, about time, and you can buy it separately, Yeah i know its expensive, but if you listen to Major Nelsons podcast you'll find out why, and you get a cable to transfer the contents from your 20gig hd to the new one.
There's no excuse for charging $180 for a 120gig 2.5" SATA hard drive. None.
Expensive isn't the word. "Anal with no KY" is more like it.

Omg you have offspring, poor kid. Being a russian/ukrainian myself, i've never dealt with your type of attitudes in my community.
Thats because you are NOT a Ukrainian Nationalist - a Independent and Soverign Ukraine.. Ukraine for Ukrainians only.
Yes, I am a member of OUN and many other nationalist movements. I take it when Yushchenko was President, you never heard of the song:
RAZOM NAS BAHATO, NAS NE PODOLATY!!!!

Not any more than I can hold that her own stupidity led to this as well.
Like I said previously, putting yourself in harm's way should not in any way absolve you from blame for what happens. When you use yourself as a human shield, you're going to get hurt - why should it be the other guy's fault? When was the last time you tried to jump off the front of a moving vehicle?

Now try going to a movie theater, and watching a 3D movie with your head held at any sort of significant angle off the vertical, say resting on the shoulder of your S.O.. It doesn't work at all then either. (You can get around that by using active [shutter] glasses, but then you're
This is incorrect. The two passive 3D systems in modern cinemas use either colour filters (Dolby 3D - the glasses you must hand back) or circular polarisation (RealD - the disposable glasses you can keep). Either system works the same at any head angle.

It's really sad to see so many "regular" people docilely line up for foods and gas without "publicly" showing their contempt because of the government's poor "preparedness" planning. Some hot-tempered anger and throw-the-bums-out movements will do some good in Japan.
What are you basing these statements on? I thought Japan would be one of the most prepared industrialized countries. They had an early earthquake warning system that probably saved countless lives. I don't think any other country has such a system. I suspect that if a similar rash of disasters hit a similarly populated area of America or England, the damage and death toll would have been much worse IMO.
If anything, Japanese people tend to be over caution. All elementary school kids must wear helmets when walking to and from school by law. I thought that was absurd when I lived there but they are inclined to be extremely cautious.
