I think part of the huge markup on the BSE skins and Zagg skins, and every other companies skins are out there, takes into account loss due to delivery. The Post Office is notorious for having poor delivery reliability or damages materials en route, so these companies just absorb that into their pricing.
It makes sense, I mean, really how much does it cost to mass produce these skins? They're charging anywhere from $20 - $40, for materials that cost maybe $3-$4 to mass produce.
Don't get me wrong, I really like my BSE skin, and think it's worth the price, but you should expect good customer service with such a huge markup.
I would say you're spot on with that estimate since they all offer "lifetime warranties" that you conveniently have to spend 3 or 4 bucks to get :)

Or follow a nice, easy iPhone dev related Twitter list, which includes all the main players, like this one:

This also allows you to follow all the irrelevant re-tweets comex does, as if anyone cares what he thinks about non-jb topics.

I've had this thing since December and after about a month of sort of using it I haven't really touched it since. I have Dance Central and its a great game, but to be honest, I just don't feel like dancing my ass off at the end of the day.
I have plans to buy more Kinect games and use the thing more, but lately, I haven't. You?

Comex has been updating his twitter, not sure if any of you follow it or not:
@comex: yeah, uh. I can find kernel exploits, but this is ridiculous.
@comex: As noticed by @0naj, my kernel exploit was fixed in 4.3.1.
@comex: I try not to be paranoid, but it is really hard to explain this as anything but a leak.
@comex: The funny thing is that my "new" kernel exploit is actually the kernel exploit used by JailbreakMe 2.0. It was never properly fixed.
@comex: It stayed there from 4.0.2 through 4.3, but was magically found in time for 4.3.1. well, go go @MuscleNerd and @i0n1c I guess
It doesn't seem to be looking very good for 4.3.1

I am shocked to see how popular these are becoming. Personally if I got one it would only be an addition to my computers not a replacement for my MBP. Like having the optical drive at my leisure and the better computing power. But then again I do working the IT field. I could easily see how they meet the average consumers needs. None the less I want one.

Looking really good! Things are shaping up nicely and I like the idea of separtating the 'rumors' threads, makes more sense. I know there had been talk about a game catagory, did that not make the cut? I think it would be a huge boost to the site.

Shopping Carts seem to be on the mind today!
I am helping a friend out with a website for her new business. The products are customizable, so we need the ability for the customer to select several options (using a form) such as Ribbon Color, Fabric Design, Size, etc. (more options than the typical). I am envisioning a form for each core product (shirt, belt, bag, etc.) and then several drop-down boxes for choosing options. Ideally this would all be hosted on my friend's website, not externally. Then, the customer would click "add to cart" and they would be taken off-site to the shopping cart system and could choose to "checkout now" or "continue shopping" (in which case they would be taken back to my friend's site with the option of adding more stuff to the cart, of course). Basically, the only thing we would have to assign is a price to each core product (all prices are static for the core products, the custom options are included at no additional cost) and pass that price onto the shopping cart. My friend would need to receive the info via e-mail notifying her of what to create for this customer.
Is PayPal's "Website Payments Standard" a good option for this sort of thing? My friend purchased the GoDaddy shopping cart, but that is just awful -- it takes you to a completely different site (where the shopping cart is hosted) and makes it impossible to return to the real site to choose more options! You are basically stuck on the shopping cart site and all products are there in this template that doesn't look anything like my friend's site.
It looks like the costs are strictly based on how much you sell... 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction. Seems high, but there are no other fees AT ALL, so I don't know how that compares to others.
Anyway, let me know if you have any experience with this cart, or if you have other suggestions. I am definitely looking to purchase something, as I do not have the knowledge of security to do this myself.
Thanks!!
Jenny

You've got my vote!
Your proposed graphic is definitely my favorite avatar I've seen on the entire Forum! (Uh-oh, mistake: I've just insulted all the judges ) Would make me laugh aloud & feel good every time I'd see it, I'm sure . . . Hope you get to keep it . . . I just wish I'd thought of it first . . .
Wasn't there a State that was giving away a Mozart CD to every newborn (to make them smarter?) a while ago? I wish it was a copy of "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" DVD set instead!

Deep Vacuum
I have often done this with wget (http://directory.fsf.org/GNU/wget.html), which is free/GPL, and that is also what Deep Vacuum seems to be doing, it just gives you a GUI on top of wget.

I was a home getting ready for school to start when the first plane hit. Then when I got to school I learned that a second plane hit the other tower. I had a feeling of mostly disbelief. Especially when I heard that the first one fell. I had a bad felling and mixed emotions for a few days. I wanted to do something about it but I couldn't. I could go into a lot more detail but that would take pages to write, I can remember almost everything I said, who I talked to, and what was going trough my head that day. I'll never forget. It's burned into my mind.

Hi guys,
Just working on a project using the iPhone accelerometer, i seem to be struggling with a simple prob..
I am basically storing the accelerometer values into an array using a button. I am doing this several times (but all stored in SAME array).
I then have a method that checks every value with its proceeding value
e.g
if the first reading was 10 4 6 9
this method would check 10 with 4, 4 with 6 and 6 with 9.
So far this is fine, but if the accelerometer data is saved several times..
e.g. first reading = 10, 4, 6, 9
second reading = 7, 5, 2, 8
What i wanted the method to do is compare the values in the first reading then compare the values in the second reading. but the method is comparing every value with its proceeding one since all the values are in the same array.
How would i overcome this pro.
cheers in advance::
