Life is a b**ch sometimes, just a few months ago my 21" Ironhorse Bike was stolen after just a few months owning it.

IMO, I think the general religion is "smug, matronizing, hollier-than-thou, etc", and it breaks down into sub-regions called Apple, Microsoft, Coke, Pepsi, etc, each with their own church. I'm not a fan of the Apple people that are like that, nor am I a fan of the Microsoft people who act that way either.

I hear ya, but... Microsoft devotees? Those exist? Statistically, if I've bumped into 100 bona fide Macdroids I should've encountered about 3200 Microsofties. The only Microsoft addict I can think of at the moment is Paul Thurrott over at SuperSite for Windows, but he always struck me as more of a, well, Paul Thurrott fan who likes to talk about Paul Thurrott and put little pictures of Paul Thurrott on his Paul Thurrott page about Windows and Paul Thurrott. Most Windows users don't seem to think about Windows at all. While this may be perceived as a lack of enthusiasm for the product, I find it quite sound. Windows is just something they use, like a sidewalk, a fork or a toilet. I like having a toilet available, really appreciate what it does for me, but it's not like I've built a shrine for it or have posters of it over my bed.

    very. powerful. ad.

So, is it magical? Nah... ok sometimes, almost... check out the new (free) "Planetary" app for browsing your iTunes library... that's pretty magical! :)

Well said, that app is magical for sure. Can't believe they did it for free, its just such a fun app to use. :)

It was so obvious that the little girl was carrying a weapon of mass destruction.

How much discretion should a TSA screener be given as to who should be given a secondary screening should something go "Bing". Six years and under, get a bye. How about seven years old? Is eight too young? How about VIPs and corporate CEOs? Should Randy Quaid get screened but not Charlie Sheen, because the screener has the discretion and a fondness for 2 1/2 men?

Here's an interesting video.... by the by....

It's just a game... admittedly. Link (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0qx9VVJqcns). [Warning-mute your sound, it's very loud even at the quietest volume click]

Precisely, some of the side effects of forced change are learning disorders, dyslexia, stuttering and other speech disorders.

Left handed people have always been persecuted and represent a significantly larger portion of society than homosexuals, plus they tend to do well in society regardless of the persecution.

Doesn't your first statement contradict the second?

Wouldn't learning disorders, dyslexia, stuttering and other speech disorders make it more difficult to "do well in society"?

your correct, based on Steve Jobbs response to this which was pure BS we can never trust that the files do NOT get sent out, so with this and their sweat shops in china i think enough activists, governments around the world and companies will shut apple down, so its not just Congress coming to ask Apple why it was still there after a year ago when they where sued for using it to COLLECT POLITICAL VIEWS:

    Lets see why :

Wikileeks, Wall street, Oil Giants, allot of these people used macs and iphones, I think Congress is doing the right thing indicting Apple for violations of privacy on US and foreign citizens becuase if they do nothing other nations will pull the plug forever, Israel already is planning a blockade on the devices

    --
    I agree.

It's sad to see so many down vote your statement - a statement that is an advocate for people and democracy.

Too many people here are more patriotic to corporations than they are to themselves. Sad, sad, sad.

iSteve caves to the likes of Al Franken. Yep. Too Funny.

Maybe Al can get Apple to put a real GPU back in the MBP13? I'm off to email him. Wish me luck!

Apple responded to the people, not Al.

I suppose you care more about the corporations desire to build massive databases, to commoditize every detail about us.

Are we merely targets for advertising, or are we human?

From what I've heard of Windows 8 so far, I am impressed that Microsoft are back on the ball in terms of features that users want. A lot of the features coming in Windows 8 should either have been added ages ago, or are polished/expanded versions of something that existed in Windows for a long time, but was either poorly integrated or went stale due to no updates for it over the years. It will also be good to see a return of the Marketplace.

The idea of Live integration and the 'Ribbon' in explorer are the only things that put me off.

What disappoints me in Lion is the system requirements. It is massively bloated. Core2Duo and 2GB of RAM minimum is terrible. Even though my Mac is capable of running it, I'm still not impressed. Hopefully the Resume feature will kick ass so much that it will be worth it. Other than Resume and Versions, the rest of Lion's features are a big 'meh'.

What I meant is that a competitor, that might stick around, would be a good thing for iTunes store users in terms of both pricing & usability.

I can't really agree with this. The last thing I want is a bunch of different places to buy music.

IF and only if the same same content was offered on both stores would this be a good thing in my opinion, otherwise its kind of like the Blu Ray vs HD DVD thing.

You can't get email or surf the web while talking on a Verizon 3G phone. You can on AT&T and T-Mobile.

AT&T should show an empty map for where you can have both on Verizon.

Nope. Wouldn't put the store down at 5:30 pm on a Thursday (EST) for maintenance. My money is on either a major failure (unlikely) or a PRODUCT(RED) MacBook.

    EDIT:

Or, come to think of it, Quad Core Mac Pros.

awe dude now ive gotta stay up and find out! (its 10:30pm UK time!)

So again, it's a freaking phone... It's not a status symbol.

True.. But studies have shown that iPhone owners have more intercourse (decided to use the proper term) than Android phone owners. So I could see it resembling a status symbol.

On IE7 whenever I click either the "up" or "down" arrow I get taken back to the forum index.

    Same here.
It was working fine yesterday but today it just takes me to the forum index.
    I got IE9 installed btw.

Yup, i dont reckon he'd stream it live to us just to blow us a raspberry, or any other fruit for that matter.

He did it last year. The 5G event was streamed to Europe and you still can't get TV shows. Neither can we but it wasn't streamed here.

Wow, so the finder is finally giving us, what other OS' had for years. I wonder what the fanboys will say now, after defending this lack of a feature for years.

I suspect along the lines that apple innovates again and creates a brand new feature :p

I don't know which iPhone users were you talking about.

Everyone wanted multi-tasking; there are hypocrites, but can't believe any body touting that multi-tasking is bad or could be bad.

LOL - you make it sound like everyone else just copies Apple: Other companies are inventive, for example, the company behind Kinetic, or Nintendo ( first 3d game system not requiring glasses ), or Amazon for making the first popular ebook reader device, or sony

Apple are highly visible and of course, they do make innovative products but I wouldn't go as far to say "the only company".

    Exactly. Apple are just highly visible. Looking around my studio now and scanning through the tools I use at work I see lots of advanced tech that Apple doesn't use;

Microsoft Kinect, Playstation Move, Bluray, 3D display, Wacom, decent headphones, HD video camera, DSLR.
Then there's Haptic/tactile feedback for touchscreens and OLED that they could be taking advantage of...
